Simone Giostra graduated from the Polytechnic School of Architecture in Milan, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Architecture in 1995. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the founding partner of Simone Giostra & Partners, a full service firm based in New York. Prior to establishing his own practice, he acted as project architect for the design and construction of several prestigious international projects with a number of renowned architects, including Raphael Vinoly, Raimund Abraham, Steven Holl and Richard Meier.

Mr. Giostra has lectured extensively in Europe and the US, most recently at the Royal Institute of British Architects in London, for the “Feltman Lecture” at Cooper Union in New York, at the Polytechnic School of Architecture in Milan and at the  Universität der Künste in Berlin. He was the recipient of the Archi-Tech Award, the Boston Society of Architects “Sustainable design award”, a finalist of the World Architecture Festival and the Zumtobel Award in 2008. His work was published in several books and journals including: The New York Time, The Washington Post, CNN, Architectural Record, A+U, Detail Magazine and Metropolis.

Mr. Giostra is the 2010 Fellow in Architecture and Environmental Structures from the NY Foundation for the Arts; he is a permanent member of the International Scientific Committee for the European Solar Energy Conference and an advisor to the JRC, providing the European Commission with scientific and technical support. Since 1998 Mr. Giostra has held faculty positions at Cooper Union, New Jersey Institute of Technology and City College in New York. Currently, he is Associate Professor at the Pratt Institute in New York and a Visiting Professor at the Polytechnic School of Architecture in Milan.

Roberto Mancini is Founding & Managing Partner and contact person of FOR Engineering Architecture – www.for-arch.com.

He graduated in engineering at the Politecnico of Turin and received a Ph.D. in Technical Architecture, before specializing in the integration and coordination of specialized services in complex projects developed at European level (Luxembourg, France and Germany). He managed, as Project Manager or Project Engineer, working groups involved in the construction of residential and executive offices complexes, infrastructure and high-rise buildings, developed in partnership with architects and engineering companies of international relevance (Massimiliano Fuksas, Cino Zucchi, 5+1AA Alfonso Femia Gianluca Peluffo, Dominique Perrault, Christophe Gulizzi).

Since 2006 he is Adjunct Professor at the Department of Architecture of the Politecnico of Milan, dealing with the technical component of design labs.

An Architect by education, Valerio Signorelli holds a Ph.D. in Territorial Design and Goverment from the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies (DAStU) at the Politecnico di Milano. He is a research scientist at the Laboratorio di Simulazione Urbana “Fausto Curti” (DAStU) since 2007. His research interest focuses on urban design, sensory urbanism and digital simulation tools. He works on the role of the various sensory stimuli (mainly auditory stimuli) for defining well-being in urban open spaces, and the employ of ‘game engine technology’ as design, evaluation and communication tools.

Roy Nash is the founder and director of P-U-R-A Platform for Urban Research and Architecture, an international young practice with offices in London, Milan and Prague. After graduating summa cum laude at Politecnico di Milano (Italy) and studying at TU-Delft (Netherlands) design for large-scale buildings, he has been working for different Italian, Dutch and English practices on a wide range of projects including the masterplan of Milano Fiori with Erick Van Egeraat Architects (NL) and the Barking Riverside development with Sheppard Robson (UK).

During his PhD in Architecture and Urban Design, earned in 2013, he has been tutoring on different design courses and International workshops of the same faculty for the department of Architecture and Planning (Diap) of the Politecnico of Milano. His research on marginal urban and suburban tissue, on dismissed or abandoned infrastructures and urban voids, has been awarded for the “Premio Bergamo di architettura” and the project of Piacenza’s waterfront. Currently he is Adjunct Professor in Architectural and Urban Design at the Faculty of Architecture of the Politecnico di Milano and design director of the residential tower ed.5 for the EXPO Village 2015 in Milan.
